Fujifilm XT-30

If you are a serious photographer then this lightweight mirrorless camera will considerably enhance your traveling experience. It features the latest generation of Fuji's image making technology, and they promise that this camera delivers almost exactly the same performance of their signature camera the XT-3, but in a more compact body. As any other Fuji camera, this tiny fellow provides an extremely accurate auto-focusing system and blade cutting sharp images. It has a 26.1MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and X-Processor 4 Quad-Core CPU with very high ISO capabilities (up to 51200) and it can record 10-bit, 4:2:2 DCI 4K video. This camera has a price tag of $799.00 body only. Fujifilm has a sweet lens line-up, so pick wisely. The trick here is to pick one lens and use it so much that you will get used to it almost intuitively. This will help you in figuring out the frame even before framing, making you unbelievably fast when shooting on the streets. But if you ask us, we love the Fujinon XF23mmF2 R WR.

Sony a6400

Don't let that small size trick you, this camera is almost like simply having a lens with controls, and we love that experience a lot. This is an extremely stable and versatile compact camera that copes closely with what you can find in Sony's full-frame line-up, at a friendlier price and smaller size. The autofocus system in this camera is very powerful, and will present no lag at all at the EVF. It also features a tiltable LCD touchscreen that makes it even more capable, especially for video recording. This camera features a 24.2MP Exmor CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processor that will deliver you some really clean shots, and it can be yours for $998.00 with an E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Lens. Same thing here about lenses, Sony has a very impressive lens offer, but with higher prices though, so take that into account when considering this fantastic camera system.

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III

If you love taking photos and traveling in an extremely practical way, then this camera is the perfect tool for you. This camera has proven our theory that Canon should focus more on these tiny cameras rather than DSLRs by now, they are amazing. This sleek camera could literally fit in your pocket, and features a 20.1MP 1" CMOS sensor with DIGIC 8 image processor, making it unbelievably fast and accurate. Don't expect interchangeable lens capabilities, but trust us, that 24-100 (f/1.8-2.8) is all you need for traveling. Limitations like this trigger the most creative solutions, so don't fear being constrained by your tool. This beautifully designed camera has a selling price of $749.00, and it has a really comfortable ergonomic experience. There are several PowerShot G options, but G7's legacy hits the perfect spot for us.

Some Nice Tips for You While Traveling

Cameras are always important of course, but having a nice bag and some really comfortable walking shoes (ones that can be used all day long without any trouble) might be even more important gear. Switching for a small camera isn't always easy, and we know that. What we advise you to do the following in order to enjoy the benefits of traveling light weighted. Travel with both setups, and we assure you that your big camera will be sitting on your hotel or B&B room almost the entire time. There is a psychological factor involved in doing this, you'll feel secure, but you'll eventually understand that you can do traveling with a small set-up by realizing that you almost never took the big set-up outside at all.

Unless you are deeply into landscape photography, traveling with a huge and heavy camera bag filled with lenses and other stuff isn't the best way to enjoy a trip. Deciding between lenses is always a mess, especially if you are into documenting life on the streets. Take the next step, and try doing a trip simply with a small and "limited" camera, your whole traveling perspective will change for good, trust us. Being able to see and enjoy more is priceless, but it can be "bought" by investing in a camera that will reduce distractions from you mind. Travels aren't as cheap as we could wish them to be, therefore it seems logical to us that anything that enables us to enjoy more should be embraced, and using a small camera while traveling is perhaps the wisest thing to do about that.
